Bible Verses Supporting the Flat Earth

The following are Biblical verses that deal with the shape and status of the earth on which we all live, and here is the Scriptural basis for those who agree that the Bible should be taken literally. (* indicates our comment)

Job 38:18 "Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all."

Isaiah 44:24 "Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;"

Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him,..." (*this is impossible on a globe)

Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”

Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”

Joshua 10:12-13 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher (Jasher 88:63-64)? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. (*the sun and moon were commanded to stand still, not the earth)

Hab 3:11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation:

Psalms 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun , Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

Eccl 1:5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

1 Chro 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Ps 93:1 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

2 Sam 22:16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Ps 18:15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

Ps102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Prov 8:27-29 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment(*Antarctica ?): when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Isa 48:13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Ps 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

Job 9:6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Isa 24:18 ...for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

1 Sam 2:8 ...for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.

Job 38:4-6 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof

Job 28:24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven

Mat 4:8 the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them (*impossible on a ball)

Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in (*circle, not sphere, globe or ball)

Ps 136:6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters:

Isa 44:24 ...I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone...

Job 26: 7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. (* It is not hanging on anything, it is stable, immovable, set on foundations supported by pillars)

Job 26:10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds(*Antarctic ice wall), until the day and night come to an end

Prov 8:27-29 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: (* N,S,E,W - 4 pillars under the flat earth making 4 corners) When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment(* Antarctica): when he appointed the foundations of the earth

Job 22:14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven (*God's moves within the circuit of the firmament)

Rev 20:9 "And they went up on the breadth of the earth..." (*Strong's Bible Concordance from G4111; platýs, plat-oos'; spread out "flat") .

Genesis 1:6-9 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

A flat earth, with a domed firmament, set on a foundation with pillars.
