"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel 12:1-2)
In this endtime prophecy given by the prophet Daniel he is speaking of the children of God when referring to the resurrection in which some shall awake to "a condition of humiliating disgrace or disrepute" and others to an everlasting "state of being despised".
In the vast majority of so-called Christian circles when these things are read the mental conditioning dictates that it is automatically speaking of others not "saved", but this is not what the Bible says here. This is referring to those who profess themselves to be Christian but behave in a fashion that would leave them in shame or contempt for eternity in the resurrection when we shall all come and stand before God and give account. That account, like any worldly bank account, will either have a balance in the positive or negative, and should it be in the negative then that soul shall be found wanting.
Now let us look at what Jesus taught; " Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."(Matthew 6:19-21) Our "treasure" therefore is not to be earthly but in spiritual values that will be eternal. And what greater spiritual value than one soul saved ? But how can one bring a soul to Salvation without first embodying the Spirit of Love that will draw him/her to it ?
What witness is being preached, what example of Christ is being demonstrated, when those who call themselves Christian enable war and the slaughter of the innocent for earthly gain ? Are they not misrepresenting Christ? What did Jesus teach about that ? Let's look at what He said,"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say ?"(Luke 6:46) What did He say about wars and our treatment of others ? "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."(Matthew 5:9) is one example.
What has so deceived the vast majority of American so-called Christians into their support, both financial and moral, of the wars and slaughter being carried out in Christ's name? Where do they get this hatred for others, when Jesus taught that we are to love one another and we are to love our enemies despite our differences ? Are they not being traitors to the faith they claim to profess ? They certainly do not represent anyting that Jesus said or taught, so who are they representing or promoting ? Who's agenda is being forwarded if it is not Christ's, and it clearly is not ? What is being reserved for those who betray the Lord by slaughtering the innocent ? Shame and contempt, according to what the Bible actually says. We here certainly do hold them in the highest of shame for betraying Christ in this way. They crucify Him afresh every day and then go get their conscience excused by reprobate and apostate preachers in the pulpits every Sunday only to start again on Monday morning.
What is it that the apostle Paul taught about commiting sin once you are saved ? We are not speaking of commiting sins of the mind, where we do things that are inconsiderate and end up hurting others inadvertantly, we are speaking of doing things in the full knowledge that, if thought about for but a second, it is evil and anti-Christ ? Paul wrote; " For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."(Hebrews 10:26-27) This is not speaking of those outside the scope of "believers", it is specifically saying that those who knowingly commit atrocities in full knowledge of it being a sin against God and man, have no recourse for atonement, nor should there be. "there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins", in other words, Jesus died for sin, however there is a condition that sin be not willingly and willfully enetered into thinking that these things are pre-forgiven without reserve or reprocusions.
A Christian has the responsibilty of representing Christ, for that is what the very word "Christian" means, "a follower of Christ", to the best of his/her ability. And to embody to the best of his/her ability the Spirit of Christ, and to do that it behooves each person that would carry the name of Jesus to behave accordingly. Jesus said that the earmark behavioural identifier that would demonstrate if someone were a follower of His was what ? What did He say, not the apostate preacher, not the neighbour, but what did Jesus say ? "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another"(John 13:35). Love is the identifier, not war, not slaughtering babies, not corporate greed, not empire building, not policing the world, not enforcing anything upon the will and minds of others by brutality. Love God and love your neighbour as yourself are the only two commandments Jesus held us liable for.
Will yours be a resurrection to life, or to shame or everlasting contempt ? The choice is yours and you alone will bear the responsibility for your decision.
