Beloved brethren, for as long as I can remember, people have said that "we are all God's children" ect... This may come as somewhat of a shock to some, but THAT statement is simply not true ! Nowhere does the Bible ever state that we are all God's children. As above, though, there are many many instances where the Bible does make a clear division between God's children and the children of this world. Between the "sheep" and the "goats"; the sheep being those who follow and the goats being those that are always "butting"...but this, but that, but but but. But nothin' !
"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."(Mt 113:24-30)
This world is not our home, we who are God's children, but there are those whose home this is and they will defend it vehemently in order to preserve all it's elements and values. Jesus said,"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."(1Jn 2:15) Why do you suppose He said a thing like that, when the Bible states clearly that," God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life."(Jn 3:16) ? Because He was refering to the elements of the world, not the individual souls that are in it. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."(1Jn 2:16) These are the elements that seperate God's children from the children of this world. Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly.
Those who are indeed not the children of God are very quick in making themselves known as soon as they are presented with someone who is . They find it necessary to make their unbelief known and to try to disparage or discourage anyone who would be so brazen as to try to tell them that this world and it's evils are not all there is to it. That there is in fact a better place reserved for those who accept the blood sacrifice of Jesus for the remission of sins.
God's children have allot to look forward to, both in this life and in the one to come. Our hope is of eternal value and not based in fear of an uncertain future because we have been delivered from all that by faith in Jesus.
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."(Jn 1:12)
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."(Ro 8:14). Those who are not, aren't !
May God bless you with His Love and Truth.
